I love all things old; things that tell a story, had a meaningful purpose once, carry a memory. So when I found out my mom brought home a luggage full of things from her childhood home in the Philippines, I was elated!
I'd like to share some of these keepsakes with you here, so I spent the better part of yesterday photographing them out in my backyard. This unusually warm weather [it's currently 70 degrees in DECEMBER!] is giving me every and any excuse to work outdoors as much as possible.
The first collection I'm sharing with you is this set of vintage flatware. I'm not exactly sure of how far the set dates back to. It very well may be from the 50s, which was the time my moved to their house in Manila.
No mater what year they originate from, I'm absolutely captivated by the patina and character each piece possesses. Perfectly polished flatware is lovely and all, but I'd prefer a set like this any day!
Normally, I edit my photos a bit before posting them here, but with these, I didn't want to alter the authentic aged quality. I love that I'll get to have these as a memory of my family, and get to use them, style with them, and photograph them for years to come!
