Okay, I'm not entirely sure what constitutes a herd, but I've inherited a nice little collection of brass figurines, five of which are tiny elephants. When normally giant things come in miniature form, they're immediately adorable.
I was raised to love tiny objects, since my mom has collected them for as long as I can remember. One day I'll need to photograph all of the miniatures we have. That, and my enormous Polly Pocket figuring collection [if you were born in the 80s and you're a girl, you too must have a deep understanding an appreciation of Polly...].
This little group is another set of pieces taken from my mom's childhood home in the Philippines. She's pretty sure these came from my grandparent's travels. They took a trip around the world back in the 60s, and the jury is still out about where these came from, but I'd like to imagine it was some place exotic.
Currently, they're residing in a cubby of my entertainment center, but I'm sure I'll find a more permanent spot for them soon. These photos were taken on an old table out on my deck, since I liked the idea of being able to see these little guys from every angle.
