Color Inspiration: Midcentury Playful

My design tastes have been changing and evolving [as is evidenced by my website!] and although I still have a soft spot for my rustic, farmhouse style furniture pieces, my current love is all about mid century.  I've made a couple updates to my living space to reflect my new addiction, including this pretty bookcase.  I'm using more primary, bold colors [though my love for all things gray and teal is still going strong!].

Since I'm not willing to part with my favorite mid century finds [despite quite a few inquiries!], I HIGHLY recommend checking out your local antique stores for mid century finds.  But, since not everyone loves antiques, or is willing to commit to the hunt, West Elm is putting out some pretty spot on reproductions lately.  I was awfully tempted by a number of them [see below!].  For a more modern, colorful take on design, here are a few websites I like referring friends to:

Not as into the Don Draper-esque look as I am? Try bringing a few bright, happy colors into your space with decorative objects, lamps, accent furniture, or wall art. You'll automatically have a playful, more modern environment, without being too over the top!
