Some people collect art; others collect sports memorabilia. It seems that I collect ottomans. Totally normal, right? Of course not! So it's time I part ways with a few pieces from my collection. I styled one of my blue velvet wingback chairs [super comfy, but needs reupholstering in the future] with each of the ottomans I'm parting with.
I love this little plaid ottoman. The colors aren't my usual style [hits of pink and blue and cream] but for some reason, it works with so many chairs! I think the shape is just perfect, and who could say no to those classic mid century legs? It's best I stop writing about it, because I'll talk myself into keeping it [like I do with everything else I own!].
Next up is another retro beauty, this time in a cream vinyl. It unfortunately has a small nick in one corner, thanks to a really irritating incident at my house where a a guy working on the renovation, dropped his hammer on it and ripped the vinyl. They didn't even apologize! [grumbles] But it's actually a small enough issue and as you can see in the photos, it's hardly distinguishable, so I still think it makes a really cute, retro addition to any home.
And let's not forget about the beautiful embossing detail on the top of the ottoman. Love!
Finally we have my colorful, tweed ottoman [which is actually part of a pair!]. It's the largest of the three, and the most modern in style, though the fabric reminds me of a cozy tweed jacket. What I love about this particular ottoman is the variety of colors found within its fibers. There's tones of red, yellow, blue, and green, and somehow they all work well together and make sense. Because if the variances in color, this piece can work in almost any situation and with any chair or sofa. They're also larger, allowing them to work both as occasional seating, or in lieu of coffee tables.
