Walking Through Cobb Antique Mall

Last week I took my car to the dealership for its regular check up, and realized there was this huge antique store just a mile down the road [you'd think I chose the car based on its proximity to antique stores, but no!]. Sometimes I get in a habit of snapping photos of things I find interesting as I walk through, and so on this particular trip to the Cobb Antique Mall, I did just that.  I ended up buying just one thing.  See if you can guess what it is!

This was the first thing I saw when I turned the corner.  I'm really into quilts, but usually not the traditional sort like this.  But for some reason, the Americana feel and the colors and starburst design was really striking to me.

I'm a sucker for barrister bookcases, and this one was reasonably priced compared to others I've seen.  It may not be quite as 'antique' but it still had the look and feel of that style bookcase and I'm a sucker for storage.

I've got a quilt thing happening it seems, but this one was super stylish and on trend with the colors [the palest of pinks with a palm leaf color and stitching]. It feels so Floridian to me...

Another bookcase, this time skinny and simple, and would look amazing spray lacquered...hmm...

If I was a hoarder [not saying I'm not on my way...] I would be entirely organized like this and have collections of matchsticks and buttons in cute jars.  But $22 for BUTTONS?!

TOOLBOX! I actually really need a toolbox [no jokes here], and this one was a lovely, rusty teal color.  I like old things.

Well this was an interesting find! I was trying to figure out how old it was, and I think it was from sometime in the late 80s.  It looked all too familiar... Oddly enough I'm sure the cheese packet would taste exactly the same if I opened it 30 years later...

I've been wanting to find metal birds or butterflies to spray paint and mount on a wall. I love that in a kid's room, or adult's room I suppose...

So there's not just one thing in this room that's interesting...it's all of 1987 up in here.  AWESOME.

Hey pretty green chicken coop looking thing, where have you been all my life?! Not entirely confident what its purpose is/was, but I like it!

And last but not least...TINY TRUCK.  I've been realizing more and more how much easier my business would be if I just had a pick up truck.  Since I'm not sure I can make the switch just yet, I thought this one would be a perfect alternative!

Some pretty cool stuff, no? I love antique stores because they make you feel nostalgic for the past, while also allowing you to discover things you may never have otherwise.  Find out which one I bought tomorrow! Happy Friday :) -Jo
