I found a collection of 'food art' while I was at the Indianapolis Museum of Art recently. These three pieces were displayed side by side, and were really striking. I love the simplicity of the colors, forms and backgrounds of each piece. Fruit is such a classic subject, but I think painting it from this perspective makes it feel much more modern and graphic. I keep telling myself I'm going to start painting more [not just furniture, though I love it!] and this set of paintings makes me want to do just that!
