New Year, New Layout: Testing Out Website Designs

If you've been to my site before, you'll notice that today things look considerably different than they did yesterday! I've been wanting to get away from the traditional blog style site for a while, and I have all kinds of plans, details, intricacies I've been working on for a long time. I honestly just got tired of not seeing any change happen, so rather than try and build things offline, and hold off on posting until I was 100% ready, I went ahead and pulled a late-nighter [3am doesn't constitute an all-nighter, but it's feeling like one right now!] to get the major components done.  It's most definitely still a work in progress. I haven't used all high-res photos for my homepage just yet, since going with the full bleed layout and these incredibly large photos is probably the biggest change. I'm building it through Squarespace, which is incredibly easy to use if you're just sticking with the template you choose, but of course I want to make it complicated for myself,  because complicated is more fun! So we'll see how the site evolves over the next few months. I imagine things will happen in a few big spurts [when I get my random bouts of late night inspiration], but here's a few screen shots of what things look like right now.
