I grew up around 80s cane back chairs. I vividly remember having these chrome chairs because I loved the way they bounced while I sat in them [I was a four year old girl, so bouncing was one of my many hobbies].
So when I saw a set of cane back folding chairs, I needed [yes, NEEDED] to have them.
Aside from the cushions, [which took under an hour to reupholster, but more on that in another post..] they were in great shape, other than a few missing/loose screws [but don't we all have a few loose screws?].
I'm trying to be really smart about how much I spend on furniture for my studio, and these babies helped keep my budget in check. $30 for the four, plus $2 in remnant fabric [which I already had in my fabric hoarding drawer, of course].
I have to say, these do not look like $8 chairs [I'm not bragging, but I totally am...]. I styled them quickly in my kitchen [because it's too bleeping cold to do any photography outdoors] with my favorite chippy painted table.
I actually adore how the table/chairs setup looks in this space. All the colors just work a little too well, and I'd very much like to sit here and sip on tea.
Alas, I've got some serious furniture painting to do, so my long afternoon spent doing nothing in my gorgeous mid century chairs will just have to wait.
