Quick post today! I got a little side tracked this morning with other creative things, and nearly forgot to post! But I did manage to shoot this pair of side tables I finished the other day. My inspiration was a Restoration Hardware nightstand. I love all the finishes from RH, and I like trying to recreate them using Annie Sloan's paint line. I used a dry brush technique on this pair, which is really evident on the legs and along the edges of the tables. Dry brushing is basically where there's hardly any paint on your brush and you keep lightly brushing layers of paint to get the desired effect. I had to be deliberate with the way I brushed the paint on, so it can actually be trickier than if I was applying the paint with full coverage in mind.
Once you get the hang of the technique, the results are worth it. I was hoping to find a similar key hole drawer pull like the RH version, but I didn't want to wait, so I placed these lovely Anthropologie blue glass knobs. They can easily be replaced to a more traditional style, but I love the pop of color and the beautiful, reflective quality of the glass. Scroll down through my photos and I'll be posting these for sale soon!
