Fall Flowers and Found Furniture

It's been some time since I last posted [still recovering from an epic cold!], but I'm excited to report I've got a few new painted pieces to share in the coming weeks! For no particular reason, fall is my favorite time to work on furniture and head to antique stores and thrift shops to discover pieces with potential. Occasionally, I'm lucky enough to stumble upon free furniture [the ultimate bargain!].  This petite metal bistro table was sitting on the curb just down the block from my house.  My mom and I quickly knew it was coming home. She was so eager to see it transform, she actually went and painted it herself! She went over it with a couple quick coats of Annie Sloan's Provence and sealed it with clear wax.  She's watched me paint pieces many times, but I never taught my mom how to paint furniture, which just goes to show how easy it is to pick up a paint brush and make something beautiful! For this shoot, I paired the table with a stunning bouquet of fall flowers picked up from Whole Foods. There is also the occasional dog or cat that makes an appearance, because they just can't help themselves! It's not necessarily the season to use a table like this outdoors, but it actually would make a lovely little nightstand or table beside your sofa. I may have to test this little guy out in a couple different scenarios, so stay tuned for that!
