I've been on the hunt for furniture to refinish, repaint and resell, but there's just one slight problem: I HOARD furniture. Yes, it's true. BUT [okay here comes the barrage of excuses] every time I find something I can't live without, I do try to part with something in my house that I can. So naturally, when I went to Highland Row Antiques this week [they hold a monthly Saturday market where they have all kinds of wonderful Midcentury Modern pieces], I fell in love. This time, with a very simple low, wide bookcase with glass doors. She's a beaut. It's only 11" deep, which made it the perfect backdrop to my family room sofa. I couldn't have found a better console table if I tried! She may need some slight refinishing in the future, but for now, she's mine and I shan't part with her anytime soon. I did some quick styling to the shelves, but really this is a perfect receptacle for my ever growing cookbook collection. But a few pretty objects can't hurt!
